Venues That Ring In The New Year With Style.
It’s hard to believe we’re getting ready to kick off another year of great events. What some consider to be the biggest party of the year – New Year’s Eve – is being celebrated in some of New York’s biggest venues.
IN THE CENTER OF IT ALL
BB King Blues Bar and Grill (237 W. 42nd Street, 212.997.4511) will be offering five hours of premium open bar, dancing to the sounds of a live DJ, a televised broadcast from Times Square as the ball drops and party favors. A General Admissions Ticket for $75 will also give you access to Times Square (you must follow all security rules and regulations). Prices range from $75 to $185 per person.
Go with family or a group of friends and celebrate at the lively, charismatic Italian restaurant Buca di Beppo (1540 Broadway, 212.764.6527). Enjoy a family-style dinner and watch the ball drop on a big-screen. The restaurant’s VIP package ($475 per person, all ages) includes early entry at 7 p.m., reserved seating, bottles of sparkling wine and cider, buckets of beer, table-side bottle service and mixers, an extra hour of open bar before general admission arrivals, six-hour mid-shelf open bar; family-style dinner served from 7-11 p.m., non-alcoholic open bar for attendees under 21 years of age, sparkling wine toast at midnight. A similar Couples Package is available for $1596 for two tickets.
As Guy Fieri likes to say, “Go big or go home,” and at his Guy’s American Kitchen (220 W. 44th Street, 646.532.4897), they’re going big. This American roadhouse-inspired event space, bar and restaurant is offering several options from $75 per person for open bar from 8 p.m. – 1 a.m. (including non-alcoholic beverages for those under 21 years of age), appetizers from 8 p.m. – midnight, a midnight champagne toast, and party favors; to a Family Package for $135 per person that includes reserved seating bottles of champagne in addition to the general admission package; a VIP package for $155 per person that includes bottles of Smirnoff Vodka and Champagne; and a Couples VIP package for $495.
Turn your New Year’s into movie magic at Planet Hollywood (1540 Broadway, 212.333.7827). Enjoy five hours of open bar sipping signature cocktails such as the Indecent Proposal and the Terminator, while enjoying three hours of early evening hors d’oeuvres, music spun by a DJ, dancing, party favors, the live ball drop from huge flat screens and a complimentary champagne toast to ring in 2014. Packages range from $295 to $315 per person, and a Couples VIP package for $1,395 that includes 7 p.m. entry, a private table for two, a bottle of sparkling wine, priority admission, and bottle service in addition to the general admission amenities. There is even a special “Three’s a Crowd VIP Table for all ages for $1,695.

On the beautiful grounds of Bryant Park in the heart of midtown Manhattan is the Bryant Park Grill (25 W. 40th Street, 212.206.8815). The restaurant’s décor lends a Parisian flair to the night’s celebration. Packages range in price from $125 to $285 and include six-and-a-half hours of premium open bar, champagne toast at midnight, DJ, televised broadcast of the Times Square ball drop, party favors and complimentary coat check. Extras include bottle service, reserved seating, rooftop access and priority admission. The venue is also offering a Couples Table package for $695 that includes all the general admission benefits, two seated VIP tickets, 1 bottle of champagne, table-side cocktail service, and priority admission.
At New York City’s classic event spot, the elegant Cipriani 42 (110 E. 42nd Street, 212.557.5088), party-goers will enjoy a six-hour premium open bar featuring all of Cipriani’s famous cocktails, dancing across the giant floor of the Grand Ballroom, and a midnight toast with Cipriani’s own signature Prosecco. Packages begin at $135 per person.
Ring in the New Year high above the city streets at the Empire Hotel Rooftop (44. W 63rd Street, 212.956.3313). Known for its exquisite décor and trendy bar scene, celebrations on this rooftop will feature five hours of premium open bar, two DJs, midnight champagne toast, spectacular hors d’oeuvres from the Rooftop’s award-winning Chef, a live broadcast of the New Year’s Eve countdown in Times Square, and party favors. Slate (54 W. 21st Street, 212.989.0096), New York’s premier “mega-bar-restaurant-lounge” and upscale billiard venue, all in one, is kicking off its party with a five-hour premium open bar, DJ, dancing, and live streaming onto Hi-Def TV screens of the ball drop from Times Square, along with a complimentary champagne toast. Tickets begin at $105 with upgrades for VIP bottle service.
For something a little funky, visit Yotel (570 10th Avenue, 646.449.7700), an ultra-chic hotel with 20,000 square feet of stunning event space, including the largest heated outdoor terrace in New York. Packages cost $105 to $225 for five hours of premium open bar, passed hors d’ oeuvres from 9-11 p.m., a DJ spinning music throughout six fabulous rooms, and views of the Times Square ball drop on hi-resolution panoramic video screens. VIP upgrades include bottle service and tableside hors d’ oeuvres. A Couples Package includes all this plus a private table for two, 1 bottle of Grey Goose, midnight champagne toast and priority admission for $495.
Capitale (130 Bowery at Bowery and Grand Street, 212.334.5500), one of New York’s premiere event venues, is hosting a celebration that features music spun by a world-renowned DJ, dancing under magnificent 65-foot high ceilings, and a six-hour open bar serving premium cocktails from 9 p.m. – 3 a.m.. Packages range from $95 - $225 per person. Everyone will receive open bar, midnight champagne toast and party favors. Extras include reserved banquet seating, table-side cocktail and bottle services.
Looking for a relaxed, yet polished atmosphere? Visit the upscale sports bar Ainsworth Park (111 East 18th Street, 212.673.2467) and enjoy five hours of premium open bar featuring the restaurant’s famed cocktails, a live DJ and the ball drop shown on the many HD TV screens that line the wall. Located on the edge of Union Square Park is the Union Square Ballroom (27 Union Square West, 212.645.1802), an impressive 4,000 square foot facility. For one night only, sip cocktails during a five-hour premium bar with service from two 40-foot bars, a special open champagne bar from 9-10 p.m., passed hors d’ oeuvres from 9-midnight, DJ, a countdown to the ball drop as shown on two large televisions, and a complimentary champagne toast. General admission ticket is $95 per person, a VIP upgrade is $165.
The Highline Ballroom (431 W. 16th Street, 212.997.4511) has hosted some of the world’s hottest musicians and DJs, and is ready to raise the roof on 2014. Passed hors d’ oeuvres, four-hour open bar, DJ, party favors, complimentary toast and a live viewing of the ball drop are included in packages from $150 to $250. The venue is also offering a special Stage VIP Table for up to 15 people that includes all of the general amenities plus nightclub seating, bottle service and mixers for the table, and priority admission for $7,000.
