After the beautiful proposal comes the event planning process. Planning a wedding is no easy task as there are so many different things to consider. If you are a bride to be, you are probably already feeling overwhelmed. From choosing the perfect dress to the type of entertainment to the location of the dream wedding it is no wonder we have Bridezillas running around. Sit back and take a deep breath and we will cover a few tips to help you plan your dream wedding. We will focus on the venue and things that one should look for when choosing the right place.
Is the venue roomy enough?
It sounds simple enough and obvious but you really need to consider the size of the room and the amount of people on your guest list. At first glance, the room may look enormous but when you start adding in the tables for your guests, the dance floor, the entertainment and the bar, do you still have enough room? Looks can often be deceiving and this is especially true when you are looking at an empty room. Once you find the perfect venue and if you are worried that space may be an issue, ask if you can take a peek at the space when a wedding or reception is going on. This will help you envision your wedding and help to make sure all will be all you dreamed of.
Examine the lighting
The proper lighting can make the event where bad lighting can quickly turn your dreams into a nightmare. The lighting can make or break the mood and you will want to spend some time examining the lighting. Be sure to make sure that there's enough natural light as well, especially if you are getting married during the day. Also be sure that lights can be altered to help enhance the mood. Are you using candles to create the romantic mood? If so, make sure that the lighting fixtures can be controlled. It is a wise idea to visit the venue during the day as well as night. Lighting can transform a room if the lighting is good. Set the mood and the tone the way you want and help to ensure your wedding is unforgettable.
One thing to keep in mind when choosing the venue is the privacy factor. For instance, if you are having your wedding outside and in a public setting like the beach, parks, or even botanical gardens be prepared for uninvited guests. If that is okay with you, then by all means go for it. If you prefer a bit more privacy for your outdoor wedding try and opt for private estates, private parks or even a golf course. Privacy will vary from place to place and just something you will need to keep in mind as you are planning your dream wedding.
Don't Forget the Parking
So you have planned this wonderful and beautiful event and have invited 200 of your closest friends and family, right? The question that is sometimes overlooked is where will your guests park? Make sure that the venue you select has a parking lot or a parking garage near by. The lot should be fully lit and secure and also be able to handle large vans and trucks. If parking is a real problem and you have fallen in love with the venue look for alternative methods. Maybe a shuttle bus can bring everyone to the venue? Perhaps rent a large van and designate someone to pick up and drop off your guests.
