History buffs can rejoice!! Yesterday, Mayor Michael Bloomberg was in attendance for the official re-opening of the New-York Historical Society. The event at New York City’s oldest museum celebrated the completion of a $65 million dollar 3-year renovation.

The N-YHS event marks the dawn of a new high tech era for the 207-year-old institution. Interspersed throughout the museum and library, are large informational touch screen kiosks. Now visitors can interact with anything from tiffany lamps to 19th century furniture with a swipe of the finger! Talk about bridging the past and present!

Other additions following the renovation include an Italian restaurant called Caffe Storico. This Stephen Starr backed restaurant with food by renowned chef Jim Burke can accommodate up to 70 guests seated. Catering for larger events throughout the museum are provided exclusively by Stephen Starr Events. The restaurant and museum are slated to open this Friday to coincide with the official public opening.
