Located at 61st Street, between First Avenue and the East River, the Abigail Adams Smith Auditorium/Ballroom offers a calm and elegant venue in the heart of New York City.

A perfect choice for parties, receptions, dinner dances, holiday gatherings, ceremonies, and performances, this unique space can accommodate parties of 225+. Renovated by renowned American Georgian classical architect Mott. B. Schmidt, the Auditorium/Ballroom features a beautiful hardwood floor, mirrored Palladian windows, gracious receiving hall, and caterer’s kitchen with service entrance. The adjoining museum garden and patio are perfect for cocktails and provide guests with a breathtaking entrance to the Auditorium/Ballroom. The museum garden can be rented separately or in combination with the Auditorium/Ballroom.

Superb acoustics due to a high barrel-vaulted ceiling, along with the intimate surroundings, render the room an ideal choice for musical concerts.
